In June 2014 we began our 91st season of Junior Sailing on beautiful Long Island Sound, out of our wonderful Club property in Greenwich, CT,
Junior Sailing at Indian Harbor is open to both member and non-member children across a broad range of ages and abilities. Beginners as young as 4 years old can take their first sail in an Optimist dinghy in our introductory program entitled “Sprites”. Accomplished racing sailors up to seniors in high school will compete in local, regional, national and even international regatta’s in Lasers and 420s. The program runs for eight weeks – late June through mid-August.
Our mission is to promote participation in sailing through education and competition while developing in our Junior Sailors the qualities of sportsmanship, seamanship, self-discipline, and a respect for nature and for their fellow sailors – and to have a wonderful summer of fun and friendship. In 2014 we will have an outstanding group of extremely capable and experienced sailing instructors – many of whom sail for their college teams. We are proud that our most senior instructor was recently recognized as the top sailing instructor among all clubs in our area of Long Island Sound.
