New York YC Invitational
Championship

Indian Harbor Yacht Club has again been invited to compete in the New York Yacht
Club Invitational Cup U.S.Qualifying Series (USQS) in Newport.The series began
in 2010 as a competition among the top sailboat racing yacht clubs in the United
States. The 2012 event, to be held from September 4th through the 8th, will be sailed
in two different one-design classes—Sonars and the new J/70. The top three teams
from this event will be invited to compete in the 2013 NYYC Invitational Cup which
is an international competition sailed in the NYYC Swan 42.

After the first two days of competition, the teams are divided into a championship
fleet and a consolation fleet. At the conclusion of the regatta, the three top teams
from the championship fleet will be invited to compete in 2013 along with a NYYC
team against a group of international amateur teams from yacht racing clubs around
the world.
