Congratulations to Commodore Karin Nye and Jonathan Nye for completing US Sailing's advanced race management seminar

Both passed at the national race officer (NRO) level!

The weekend of February 4 -5, Karin and Jonathan traveled to Oakcliff Sailing Center, Oyster Bay NY, to sit for the two day advanced race management seminar.

The seminar focused on the changes in the 2017 - 2020 Racing Rules of Sailing that impact how races are run with sessions combining lecture, Q&A and mock drills.

Both report the seminar to have been very useful. Anyone interested in running races should consider either the basic or advanced seminar and are strongly encouraged to pursue race officer designation starting with Club Race Officer. The next race management seminar in our area is at American Yacht Club, April 1. Additional details about the seminars and attaining designations can be found here.

Rumor has it, Karin scored better but neither will confirm nor deny.
