Indian Harbor Yacht Club is thrilled to host the 50th Anniversary of Carina and Storm Trysail Foundation Dinner Friday, November 15

Carina, owned first by Richard S. and Richard B. Nye and currently by Rives Potts, is one of the most successful racing yachts of the modern era. In her first three years, Carina won class honors in the 1969 Transatlantic Race to Ireland, was a member of the winning '69 US Admiral's Cup team, won the 1970 Bermuda Race, captained and won the Onion patch that same year and won the 1972 Transatlantic Race to Spain. But her success in the last decade offers enduring proof of the boat’s ability to win any race she enters. Among those success includes two St. David’s Lighthouse overall wins in the Bermuda Race.

Highlights of the evening include:

  • Reunion of ‘70s era crew with close to fifty former crew and spouses expected
  • A dockside tour of Carina
  • A live auction of Carina memorabilia and other items
  • A terrific Indian Harbor dinner

Indian Harbor was Carina’s home through the ‘70s and ‘80s. Plus both Richard S. and Richard B. are past commodores of the club. So it is natural that the anniversary dinner be held at our club. This event is open to all – Storm Trysail membership is not required. Please consider joining us to honor the Carina legacy and support the Storm Trysail Foundation.

More information can be found on the Storm Trysail Foundation Facebook Page with registration here.

Please be aware that no a la carte dining is available during this event
